Day two of dressage at the 2018 MARS Incorporated Bromont CCI Three-Day Event saw Switzerland’s Felix Vogg moved in to the lead with a score of 30.20 riding the German-bred gelding, Colero. This is the first CCI3* for Colero, a 10-year-old (Captain Fire x Bonita) owned by Jurgen Vogg. Vogg rides with both U.S. team riders Boyd Martin and Phillip Dutton when he is not in Europe at his family owned farm in Radolfzell, Germany.

Asked about the venue Vogg said, “it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world and perfect for eventing.” Vogg traveled to the U.S. to get a jump start on his season and while the original plan was to head back to Europe in the Spring, plans changed and Vogg decided to stay through the World Equestrian Games being hosted at Tryon, N.C. this September. Just one point behind Vogg is Doug Payne on Getaway, Lisa Wall's 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding by Contendro and Sara Kozumplik Murphy on Rubens D'Ysieux, the syndicate-owned 13-year-old Selle Francais gelding (Balougran x Davidoff Silver Shadow) who are currently tied for second on a 31.2.

Derek di Grazia's cross-country course is rumored to be a test of fitness so the leaderboard will surely be shook up after tomorrow.

William Coleman (USA) who led the CCI2* following Thursday's dressage on TKS Cooley added a first and fifth in the CIC2* with the syndicate owned Off The Record, a 9-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding (VDL Arkansas x Drumagoland Bay) and The Conair Syndicate's Soupcon du Brunet, a 12-year-old Anglo-Arab gelding (Zandor Z x Bikadine) respectively. Off The Record has a penalty score going in to cross-country of 26.10 just .60 ahead of Matt Flynn (USA) riding Get Lucky.

When asked about the reasons for his successes Coleman said “I am very lucky that I have a really good team and that my wife [Katie] spearheads that.”

The CCI* kicks off cross-country on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. with the CCI3* starting at 11:15 a.m. and the two-star divisions concluding the day.
