Mark your calendars! The USEA is excited to announce the upcoming Future Event Horse (FEH) and Young Event Horse (YEH) Educational Seminar at Longwood Farm in Ocala, FL on February 24th and 25th.

The seminar will include lectures and presentations by experienced breeders and judges Susan Graham-White, Marilyn Payne, Robin Walker, and Maren Engelhardt. The session will introduce judges, competitors, and interested parties to the Future Event Horse and Young Event Horse programs. This event is a landmark educational event for breeders, competitors/exhibitors, judges, and anyone passionate about young horses and their development.

In addition to the lectures, the seminar will include live in-hand and ridden demonstrations for the FEH and YEH portions, respectively. The High Performance Training Sessions with Chef D’Equipe David O’Connor will be taking place next door, with opportunities for the seminar attendees to view these top horse/rider combinations in action. This provides a unique educational opportunity to learn in detail about the FEH and YEH programs, and then apply that knowledge when watching the High Performance horses, which possess the upper level qualities that are strived for in the FEH and YEH.

This seminar is open to both USEA members and non-members and will be of importance to anyone interested in nurturing the domestic breeding of event horses and their future in the sport. This is also a great opportunity for YEH/FEH competitors to learn what the judges look for. There is no cost for USEA members and the fee for non-members is $50.00 for both days total, Monday and Tuesday.

The lectures will take place from 8:30am to 11:00am at the Marriott Courtyard in Ocala, both days. Then the group will have lunch together and head to Longwood Farm each afternoon for live demonstrations, as well as special viewing opportunities at the USEF High Performance Training Sessions.

A more detailed schedule will be available soon, and for more information about the seminar please contact Kate Lokey, 703-779-9897 or [email protected]. Please click here for a registration form. On-Site registrations will be accepted, but it is recommended to register ahead of time to guarantee your own participant packet handout.
