The Coconino Summer I Horse Trials in Flagstaff, Arizona (Area X), July 6-8, 2018, Will offer $10,000 in prize money split between the Open Intermediate, Open Preliminary, Open Training, and Open Novice divisions. First place in each division will receive $1,200, second place will receive $800, and third place will receive $500.
If you need another reason for coming to the Coconino Horse Trials, the list goes on. The Coconino Horse Trials hosts back-to-back events, providing two convenient opportunities to achieve qualifications for the AEC or Rebecca Farm. The Summer I Horse Trials takes place on July 6-8, followed by the Western Underground, Inc. Coconino Summer II Horse Trials and T/N/BN Three-Day Event July 11-14. Additionally, the Coconino Summer II Horse Trials will be offering combined tests for any level for thsoe traveling to compete the following week at Rebecca Farm, and the event ends on Saturday, providing an extra weekend day for travel.
Beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona offers many places to check out between the Summer I and Summer II events, including the Grand Canyon and Sadona. The 6,000-foot elevation, tall pines, and balmy temperatures provide a break from the summer heat and a chance to compete during the hottest months of the year.
This year we are debuting all new cross-country courses designed by James Atkinson with great footing and lots of good galloping. Where else can you travel to get two events for one drive?
