Adult Riders

Adult Rider Program

The USEA Adult Rider Program is for all adults, professional or amateur, 22 years and older. The program aims to include adults across all skill and experience levels in a supportive program that promotes education, volunteerism, friendly competition, recognition, and just plain fun! The goal of the Adult Rider program is to increase adult rider participation in eventing as riders and volunteers.

This program is divided into 10 Areas throughout the country, and each Area program is facilitated by a volunteer Adult Rider Coordinator. Each coordinator oversees the program for their Area and sets up different educational and team related activities for their adult riders to participate in. Each Area offers at least one Adult Team Challenge (ATC) at a designated Area event each year.

Program Mission:

  • Provide opportunities for members to enhance their knowledge and skills through clinics and other educational opportunities such as Adult Rider Camps.
  • Increase and encourage volunteer involvement at events.
  • Increase the number of adult rider participants in eventing by developing camaraderie amongst members and creating a community of support and encouragement.
  • Participate and support the USEA Adult Team Championships (ATC) at the USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC).

Adult Team Challenges:

The USEA Adult Team Challenges give adult riders a chance to compete in a friendly team competition. For many years, the Challenges were held annually in different locations (Eastern, Central, and Western) around the United States, but to re-energize the program, the membership of the USEA voted to change the overall model of the program. Starting in 2014, every Area was encouraged to hold Adult Team Challenges to offer adult riders the opportunity to compete in team competitions leading up to the USEA Adult Team Championships held at the USEA American Eventing Championships.
