The Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE) Horse Trials in Tryon, North Carolina runs once a year as a part of Area III’s calendar in mid-April and offers Beginner Novice through Preliminary levels. FENCE is open year-round to equestrians, hikers, and birdwatchers, and hosts 9,000 elementary and high school students each year as a part of their outreach programs.

Significant Changes Coming to the Young Event Horse Program in 2018

Based on feedback from competitors, judges, breeders, owners, and more, the Young Event Horse (YEH) Committee has implemented some significant changes to the YEH program moving forward. Effective immediately, the YEH will have new dressage tests, an entirely new scoring and judging system, and some other significant changes outlined below.

Due to the recent news regarding positive test results of samples collected from three Eventing Riders competing in the CIC3* at the Ocala Jockey Club International 3- Day Event this past November in Reddick, Florida; the ERA of NA strongly suggests all equestrian athletes (and their support personnel) competing in any FEI competitions, regardless of the level, familiarize themselves with WADA Rules and Policies.

Meet Your Clinicians for the 2018 Educational Symposium in Ocala

This February, the USEA will once again combine three of its educational programs – the Instructors’ Certification Program (ICP), the Young Event Horse (YEH) Program, and the Future Event Horse (FEH) Program, for a full week of fun and education. The Symposium will take place February 19-22 in Ocala, Florida.

USEA Events A-Z: Flying Cross Farm Horse Trials

Flying Cross Farm in Goshen, Kentucky (Area VIII) hosts one USEA recognized horse trial each year in mid-September, offering Beginner Novice through Intermediate/Preliminary levels. The farm also offers six mini-trials throughout the year as a part of the 42 Fleur de Lis Mini Trials Series and is always open for cross-country schooling.
