Last month we continued our conversation about blindspot biases - the unintentional and often-times harmful tendency to think in a negative way without even knowing about it. As you will recall, these hidden thoughts are called blindspot biases because they can get you into a lot of trouble - just like a car hidden in your blindspot can get you into a lot trouble!

It always helps to see a warm and friendly face when heading to warm up for that all-important test or jump round. In this series, the United States Evening Association (USEA) is partnering with Athletux to feature those around us who help make these events happen, the volunteers. Without them horse shows and programs could not succeed, and these volunteers go above and beyond to make sure every rider feels comfortable and confident.

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) American Eventing Championships (AEC) are now two months away! The AEC is making history this year as it celebrates its 15th year while moving to the Colorado Horse Park in Parker, Colorado in 2018.

The Volunteer Incentive Program was established in 2017 and in just one year has experienced incredible growth, both in the number of volunteers using the Eventing Volunteers app and in the number of organizers putting the app to good use. In 2016, when the app was being piloted in Area II, it had just 800 registered volunteers. This year, the app has over 6,000 registered users and is used by 86 USEA recognized events across the country.

The Horse Park of New Jersey (HPNJ) is a multi-use equestrian facility in Allentown, New Jersey (Area II) that hosts two USEA recognized events each summer. The first event offers Beginner Novice through Advanced levels as well as USEA Young, Future, and New Event Horse divisions while the second event offers Beginner Novice through Intermediate in addition to CIC* and CIC2* divisions.

US Equestrian has announced the combinations that will compete on the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team for the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ USA at the Brook Ledge Great Meadow International presented by Adequan® and the FEI Eventing Nations Cup CICO3* Aachen. The FEI Eventing Nations Cup USA takes place Friday, July 6, through Sunday, July 8, at Great Meadow in The Plains, Va., and FEI Eventing Nations Cup CICO3* Aachen takes place Thursday, July 19, through Saturday, July 21, at the World Equestrian Festival CHIO Aachen in Germany.

Lexington, Ky. – US Equestrian has announced five athlete-and-horse combinations for the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Squad for the FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) Tryon 2018, which takes place Sept. 11-23 in Mill Spring, N.C. Following the 2017-2018 Selection Trials period, the combinations for the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Squad were recommended to the US Equestrian Board of Directors for consideration to be named to the Nominated Entry List.
