Woodside Organizers Plan Health Precautions In Response To EHV-1 Outbreak

Woodside, Calif., May 23, 2011 – The outbreak of the neurological strain (EHM) of the EHV-1 virus among horses in the western United States has caused owners, trainers and show managers considerable anxiety this month, but the organizers of The Event At Woodside are taking precautions that they believe will produce a safe competition on May 27-29.

Briar Fox Farm Spring Horse Trials Has Been Canceled Due To EHV-1 Outbreak

With sincere regret the organizing committee of the Briar Fox Farm Spring Horse Trials has made the decision to cancel next weekend’s show that was to be held on May 28-29, 2011. We feel it is our responsibility to operate in an abundance of caution in order not to risk your horse’s health. By canceling we also reduce the chances of spreading this disease.

Wayne DuPage Gears Up for the 2011 Eventing Season

Richland Park Horse Trials Chosen To Host Final Mandatory Outing for The Pan Am Games

The Richland Park Horse Trials which are scheduled for August 25-28 have been chosen to host the final Mandatory Outing for the U.S. Team for the Pan American Games. The 2011 Pan Am Games are being held in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30.

Optical Illusion Makes Magic In The SmartPak Equine/USEA Preliminary Three-Day Event At The Virginia Horse Trials

What could likely be the very last Classic Preliminary Level Event at the Virginia Horse Trials concluded today in Lexington, Virginia. Seven riders entered the SmartPak Equine/USEA Preliminary Three-Day Event, five started the competition, four completed all the phases of Endurance Day, but only one took home the blue ribbon.

Spring Coconino Horse Trials Rescheduled to September 17-18, 2011

Due to the recent Equine Herpesvirus (EVH-1) outbreak, the Coconino Horse Trails organizing committee has decided to reschedule the June 4-5, 2011 USEF/USDF Coconino Dressage Show and the Spring Coconino Horse Trials to September 17-18, 2011.  We feel this change will eliminate the need of transporting horses during the time frame that our veterinarian community needs to get a handle on the outbreak, where it is, what it does and reduce it's impact on our equestrian community.  This change will also reduce the concern for our horse's welfare during this time.  We can't have f

GVRDC Spring Event Has Been Canceled Due To Rain

The Genesee Valley Riding & Driving Club Spring Horse Trials in Geneseo, NY scheduled for June 5th has been canceled due to excessive amounts of rain. The entire cross-country course is under water and the organizer does not feel there is not enough time to sufficiently prepare the course.
