Fees:

Entries available on www.EquestrianEntries.com or by mail. Checks payable to GMHA send with Equestrian Entries receipt or USEA Entry form 2010. 

3 Day Event Fee: $425 includes stabling 8/10/10- 8/13/10 until 1 pm. August Horse Trials Fee: $180, Stabling fee: $95.00 8/13/10-8/15/10 starts 2 pm. Entries without payment will not be accepted.

1. Entries:

3 Day Event Qualification Requirements: Horse and Rider must be registered members of USEA. Horses and riders must have competed in four sanctioned Training or Novice level Horse Trials; two events must have been as a combination for Novice, one for Training.  At each event the rider, or horse, or combination must have completed the entire trails with not more than 50 penalty points in dressage, no cross-country jump penalties and not more than 36 points time penalties on cross country, and not more than 16 penalties at obstacles in show jumping. Junior division competitors will be placed on teams.

Entry fee includes a $25 non-refundable office fee.  Levels may be divided/combined as entries warrant and based on the discretion of show management; state preferences under Eligible Section and birth date on entry. NOTE: USEA and USEF fees are not included as part of the entry fee. These association fees should be added to your entry fee, per the itemized Fees Enclosed section of the Entry Form, totaled with the other applicable fees, and sent to the event with your entry. Only 2010 USEA Entry Forms will be accepted. All entries must include a copy of a negative coggins test dated after 8/1/09. Entries may not be postmarked prior to the opening date. Entry Confirmation status will be posted on www.gmhainc.org and www.area1usea.org. Double entries: Not accepted. Membership: USEA membership required at all levels. Preliminary and above entries must be USEF members and MUST submit copies of USEF membership card (Competitors, owners, trainer) OR pay USEF non-member fees. If non-member USEF non-member fee must be paid. You will be billed $25 for a non-returned pinny  All changes must be made in writing,  mail, fax, or email acceptable. There will be a $25 change fee for ANY change to an entry after the closing date; ex. change of horse or rider, change of division (if space allows), etc. There is a $25 fee for any bounced checks. Refunds: Scratches received in writing on or before the closing date will be refunded minus a $25 office fee. No refunds of entry fees after the closing date.  In the event the competition has to cancel, there will be no refunds.

2. Tentative Schedule:

3 Day Event:Tues 8/10/10 Must be on grounds by 3 for in-barn vet check, Weds 7:30 First Jog up, 8:30 Dressage, Thurs:7:30 Endurance Day, Fri: 7:30 Final Jog-up 8:30 Stadium Jumping 

Horse Trials: Friday 8/13/10 Barns open 2:00 PM. Cross-country course open -3 pm. Sat: Dressage-7:30:Show Jumping-10:00 AM Sun 8/15/10 Cross-country-7:30 IP, P, T, N, BN 

3. Awards:

3 Day Event : Many awards sponsored by Area 1 Adult Rider Program and others TBD

Horse Trials:Trophy & 8 ribbons per division. Special Award presented to the GMHA Member with the best overall score at any level. There will be a total of $750 in scholarship money awarded in the JYOP division for the Eileen Wilmot Scholarship ~ sponsored by Birch Hill Farm. Area 1 Adult Riders will give the Rozo McLaughlin award of $300 to the lowest scoring adult amateur of all divisions for equine educational purposes.

4. Starting Times:

Tentative times will be posted on www.gmhainc.org and www.area1usea.org. Official times will be posted in the show office.

5. Stabling/Veterinarian:

Stabling form & payment must accompany entry form. 155 permanent box stalls and 42 portable stalls, all with solid doors.  No bedding or hay provided. Hay and bagged shavings available for purchase, $10 per bale/bag.  No tack stalls available. No refunds on stabling after the closing date, unless show management is able to fill your stall. Stalls are to be stripped upon departure. The competitor will be billed $50 for a dirty stall. No non competing horses on grounds.

Woodstock Inn and Resort: 800-448-7900 or visit www.gmhainc.org for full accommodations list. Town of Woodstock Zoning Prohibits Camping of Any Kind (tents, trailer, camper, etc) on GMHA grounds.

7. Directions:

GMHA is on Rte 106 - 6 miles south of Woodstock. From West NY Thruway: To I-87 Northway to exit 20. Take Rte 149 to Fort Ann, then Rt. 4 east to Rutland then Woodstock. Take right on Rt. 106 before Woodstock Inn south 6 miles to GMHA. From South: I-91 to Ascutney, exit 8 Rt. 131 west 7 miles to Rte 106 north, 12 miles to GMHA. From East: I-89 north to exit 1 in Vt. Take Rt. 4 west into Woodstock. Then right on Rt.106 south to GMHA. SPEED limit 25 mph stirctly enforced in town!

8. Dressage:

3 Day Event: T-2010 USEF Training 3-Day Event Test-Large Arena two judges, N-2010 USEF Training Test B-Large Arena two judges

Horse Trials: : IP-2010 USEF Intermediate Test B-Lg.  P-2010 USEF Preliminary Test B-Sm. T-2010 USEF Training Test B-Sm. N-2010 USEF Novice Test B-Sm. BN-2010 USEF Beginner Novice Test B -sm.

9. Cross-Country:

3 Day Event Endurance: Training and Novice Levels: Phase A- Roads and Tracks, Phase B-Steeplechase, Phase C-Roads and Tracks, Phase D- Cross Country

Horse Trials Cross Country: IP/P-2800 m @ 520 mpm. T-2400 m @ 450 mpm. N-2000 m @ 350 mpm.. Terrain: Very hilly; much water, 3/4 in fields, remainder in woods. All courses moderately difficult.

10. Other Information:

Cross-country course closed July 1. Management reserves the right to limit # horses per rider per division. No wheeled or motorized vehicles on Cross-Country course. Parking has changed, check GMHA website for information. Concession on grounds during show hours. Strict Dog Policy - Pets must be leashed at all times. $30.00 fee for each off-leash occurrence. No dogs allowed on cross-country course on cross-country day. Trailer tags (given upon arrival) with stall assignment & emergency information must be affixed to trailer after arrival.  Horses must wear bridle number when out of stall. Cell phone coverage is unreliable in Vermont (and non-existent at GMHA). We recommend bringing a calling card with you.
