Karen O’Connor and Joan Goswell’s Mandiba (pictured left) led the victory gallop this afternoon after their wire-to-wire win in the Adequan USEA Gold Cup CIC3*W at Rebecca Farm (Kalispell, Montana). Buck Davidson, who partnered with Carl & Cassandra Segal’s My Boy Bobby, took home the red ribbon, while Phillip Dutton and Tru Luck (owned by Ann Jones & Rebecca Broussard) rounded out the top three. The Adequan USEA Gold Cup CIC3*W division put on their Sunday best and jogged before the ground jury for the only horse inspection required of the weekend for the HSBC FEI World Cup class. As a CIC, or international horse trials, competitors are only required to complete one formal horse inspection, as opposed to the CCI divisions who are required to trot up twice. Hannah Sue Burnett led this year’s Preliminary Three-Day Event from start to finish—after posting a 30.6 during Thursday’s dressage test, the 24-year-old from The Plains, Virginia never looked back. Partnering with Jacqueline Mars’ Harbour Pilot, the pair earned high honors and a fair share of great prizes and prize money during today’s awards ceremony. Cathy Wieschhoff and her own Simba were runners-up with a 39.2. Alyssa Ryan and Free Joshua finished in third with 78.7, and Tiffany Lunney and My Tuition were fourth with 125.6. Hannah Sue Burnett and Jacqueline Mars’ Harbour Pilot never relinquished their lead after dressage, and enjoyed the fruition of a successful weekend as they accepted their winnings this morning for their victory in the Preliminary Three-day Event at Rebecca Farm. Burnett, 24, of The Plains, Virginia and the seven-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding finished the long-format event on their dressage score of 30.6. Karen O’Connor maintained her overnight lead in the CIC3*W with Mandiba, though Phillip Dutton & TruLuck aren’t far behind—less than a rail, in fact. Both Olympians churned out double-clear rides on their horses—the only two riders in the division to accomplish this feat. In the Advanced division, Buck Davidson bumped Amy Tryon out of the lead to take over the top position on Titanium. Tryon currently sits in 3rd and 4th on Coal Creek and Leyland, respectively. This afternoon at Rebecca Farm, Tiana Coudray remained atop the pack in the CCI2*, aboard Master Hill, who gave her a double-clear cross-country round. She has a sizeable lead heading into tomorrow’s show jumping with nearly a 10-point lead over 2nd placed rider David Adamo and Prince Noah. At the Event at Rebecca Farm in Kalispell, Montana, Hannah Sue Burnett & Harbour Pilot (pictured left) maintained their overnight lead in the long-format Preliminary Three-Day division, after a double-clear round, and are a few points ahead of Cathy Wieschhoff and Simba with their 30.6 heading into tomorrow’s show jumping. In the CCI1*, a fault-free round kept dressage leaders Maris Burns and Young Gun atop the division. After posting a double-clear round, Karen O’Connor and Joan Goswell’s Mandiba held onto their slim overnight lead in the CIC3*W division (the Adequan USEA Gold Cup division) at Rebecca Farm this afternoon. Phillip Dutton and Tru Luck posted the only other double-clear round to remain in second, only 1.6 points behind O’Connor’s 44.2.
