New Dates Added for Future Event Horse Series!

Updated: June 22, 2009

Two important dates have just been added to the 2009 IDHSNA/USEA Future Event Horse schedule, so start currying those youngsters, practicing your in-hand trots, and mark the dates on your calendar!

The first is a qualifier event, which will be held at Green Hill Park in Salem, Virginia on August 8th in conjunction with the Blue Ridge Eventing Association's combined test and dressage show. The Green Hill Park show grounds are conveniently located just outside of Roanoke, Virginia right off of I-81, making it an easily accessible event to eventers all over southern Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia! More details about this event will be posted on the USEA website in the coming weeks, or you can email emily@useventing.com for more information.

Also, we have exciting news--we've just solidified plans to host the 2009 FEH Championships at the fall Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia! The championships will be held in conjunction with the Virginia Horse Trials on October 3-November 1. Luckily for travelers, the Virginia Horse Center also resides in a very convenient location - nestled right off of highways 64 and 81.

The Championships are open to all yearlings, two-, and three-year-old young horses who have competed in at least one FEH show in 2009, or have attended the Rolex Kentucky demonstration. No qualifying scores are necessary--so come and join the fun!

More entry information will be posted in the coming weeks. Most likely, the show will begin in the early afternoon in order to allow owners ample time to arrive and settle on grounds. We apologize that we weren't able to secure a weekend date, but hopefully this Friday afternoon time will be a good compromise.

Thank you to our wonderful title sponsor, the Irish Draught Horse Society of North America, who are as passionate about preservining history and bloodlines of talented horses as we are. Also, thanks to fellow FEH sponsors Nutrena and Foxden Equine for their support of this important program.

Interested in hosting an FEH show at your event or farm? It's easy, fun, and a great way to get involved with the program. Contact Wendy Weinstein at wendy@useventing.com for more information!
