The Ark Hosts First YEH & FEH Events of the Year This Friday

The first events of the 2009 Spalding Labs USEA Young Event Horse Series and the Future Event Horse Series are set to kick off at The Ark Horse Trials in Monroe, North Carolina next week. Get your entries in soon to take part in these fun series!

Charlie Musco will be judging these divisions, and both will be held on Friday, February 27th beginning at approximately 9am (they will conclude before the cross-country course opens at 3pm, and are limited to the first 20 horses entered).  YEH participants are allowed to cross-enter into the Horse Trials  (different riders allowed).   Special rate layover stabling available for HT horses who ship in early for this event; contact organizer for details.

Entry Fee:  YEH$75; FEH $50

Grounds Fee:  $15 (waived for yearly pass holders and stabled horses)

Stabling Thurs. night:  $40 (includes 2 bags of shavings; special Thursday $25 rate for horses laying over for the weekend or competing in the horse trials)

Dress for YEH:  casual (medical armbands, helmets, heeled boots, and collared shirts required; vests required for the jumping phase)

Dress for FEH: casual, but safe - you should wear athletic attire (tennis shoes, comfortable clothes such as slacks and a nice shirt). Helmets are recommended.

Boots and Braiding:  braiding optional (very optional for FEH); boots and bandages not allowed during confirmation inspection or dressage of the YEH

The FEH & YEH calendars are frequently updated - check their sections of the website often! Already thirteen events have signed on for the YEH and five for the FEH with more on the way.
