The popular Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships presented by Land Rover offers qualified USEA members of all ages and levels the chance to compete in the only national championships of its kind in the United States. Each September, hundreds of juniors, adult amateurs, and professionals travel from all across the nation to participate in this prestigious competition, vying for the chance to win a piece of the prize money and fabulous prizes and the chance to be named the best in the nation at their respective levels.

The 2016 Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships presented by Land Rover will be held at the fabulous Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, NC on September 1-4.  The 2015 Championships were widely hailed as a roaring success, and the 2016 Championships intend to build and improve on the event at a fabulous new facility.

The Advanced Championships will continue on as the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Advanced Championships. Competitors will have to qualify by completing one of the designated Gold Cup competitions in order to be eligible for the $40,000 Advanced Championship. The championship is also designated as the USEF National Advanced Horse Trials Championship, the winner of which will receive the prestigious Jack Le Goff Trophy.

Riders and spectators will enjoy excellent amenities including high-quality permanent stabling as well as spectacular viewing areas for almost all of the show grounds. With courses designed by the renowned designer of Britain’s Burghley Horse Trials, Captain Mark Phillips, the team at the Tryon International Equestrian Center are developing championship-calliber courses for all levels.

As horse and rider combinations qualify, we will post their names on the website.

Longtime USEA sponsor Merial is returning as the title sponsor of the Intermediate Championships and we are working hard to secure more prize money and more of those lovely prizes that have become a hallmark of the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships. Thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors who make these championships possible for our members.

The Mark Phillips Pony Rider Championships will again be held at the Beginner Novice, Novice and Training levels for riders 16 and under and ponies 14.2 and under. Please remember that if you want your placings to count for qualifications for the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships and for leader board points, you must be a USEA member and your horse/pony must be registered.

At the Beginner Novice, Novice and Training levels a lifetime “limited status” horse registration of $40 will take care of your horse’s requirements. If you are moving to the preliminary level and above please make sure that your horse is upgraded to “full status” which is an additional $110. If you have purchased a new horse and intend to compete at the preliminary level and above then you will need to purchase a “full status” lifetime horse registration for which the fee is $150.

The USEA would like to thank all of you for being such loyal supporters of our USEA programs. We are looking forward to cheering on you and your horses at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in the beginning of September and invite you all to come join us as we celebrate the breath taking sport of Eventing.
