  • The USEA will be its members� indispensable (go to) resource for education, safety, horse welfare, certification, training and information.
  • The USEA will be a leader in making eventing competition more user-friendly, enjoyable, efficient, simpler and affordable.
  • The USEA will be the driving force to promote the sport of eventing (horse triathlon) as a recognized spectator sport.

Dr. Mary Alice Brown (1938-2011)
Dr. Mary Alice Brown, one of the longest supporters of three-day eventing, died in November 2011. She was 73 years old and still eventing. Mary Alice was introduced to eventing by Jean Campbell, who was her instructor at Smith College in 1957. Mary Alic (November 10, 2011)

Alyce Hinkle, 1947-2011
Alyce Hurt Hinkle was born in Rockville Maryland on January 31st, 1947 and passed away in a car accident on August 17th, 2011. She is survived by her life partner Debra Anne Kerschenbaum, her daughter Tayler Kerschenbaum Owen and husband Mark Owen, son A (August 22, 2011)
Elkins Wetherill, 1919-2011
Lifelong horseman Elkins “Elky” Wetherill passed away on August 11, 2011 at his summer home in Waldoboro, ME. He was 91. Mr. Wetherill had resided in Plymouth Meeting, PA since 1949. (August 22, 2011)

RIP Jackie High
Area V has lost a dear friend and long time volunteer last week, Jackie High. Jackie was a volunteer coordinator at Holly Hill for many years. She died after a courageous struggle with pancreatic cancer on July 13th. Services celebrating the life of Ja (July 19, 2011)

Australian equestrian legend James George “Bill” Roycroft OBE passed away on Sunday 29 May at the age of 96. Bill Roycroft was one of Australia’s greatest Olympians and one of only five Australians to have competed in five consecutive Olympic Games. (May 31, 2011)
