Instructor Certification Program
Instructors certified through the USEA Instructors' Certification Program (ICP) have been educated to the highest standards on the most effective and safe teaching methods of event riding, training, and competing, as well as the care of the horse.
Safety Resources
The USEA prides itself on providing the safest experience for every eventer. Safety studies, rule changes, and new equipment have helped make Eventing safer over the last several years. Keep your eye on the USEA website for the latest in safety.
Educational Activities
USEA Educational Activities further the mission of the USEA to make the sport of eventing safe, fun, fair, and affordable for all.Educational Activities may include Camps, Cross-Country Schooling, Clinics, Seminars, Schooling shows, Derbys, and Riding Tests.
Officials
Eventing officials include Judges, Technical Delegates (TD), and Course Designers (CD). They are all licensed by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) at the "r", "R" and FEI levels. However, the USEA is responsible for the Training Programs for all Eventing officials.
 
Course Builder/Designer Resources
Course designers through the Training level are certified by the USEA; course designers through the Preliminary level are licensed by the USEF, but the USEA is responsible for training. Check out the course designers and builders page for information regarding designing and building courses as well as learning how to become a course designer or builder.
Research Studies
A big part of the mission of the USEA is ensuring the safest and best experience for all eventers in the country, one way the USEA carries that out is by funding studies in a wide variety of areas that help to ensure that the USEA and Eventing is on the cutting edge.

The Dressage Session One and Two Training Programs have not been scheduled for 2014 due to lack of participants.  Please contact Nancy Knight if you are interested in attending these training programs.  If we receive enough interest, they will be scheduled.

The B & C Jumping Training Program for prospective Eventing Judges and TDs will be conducted June 21-23, 2013 during the Fox River Valley Pony Club Horse Trials in Barrington Hills, Illinois. Auditors are welcome at this training program, as well as anyone who is interested in obtaining their TD or Eventing Judge license.

Part two of Yogi Breisner's show jumping presentation at the 2013 USEA Ocala Symposium, presented by the USEA Instructors Certification Program, was geared toward Preliminary level riders and horses. The lesson was thorough as he guided riders through a variety of exercises ranging from simple suppleness and bending at the walk to an aerobically intense gymnastic jumping exercise.

As a sportsman, we can test ourselves at home, but it is only when we test ourselves at local, national or even international shows or events that we can really know how good we are. It is the same with helmets; the best can be tested anywhere in the world and pass with flying colours.
