Lauren Kieffer and Team Rebecca’s 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare Veronica performed very well in all three phases in the Adequan USEA Gold Cup and PRO Tour Series CIC3* at CHC International in Fairburn, Georgia to claim their third consecutive FEI division win this year. The final phase of cross-country ran in reverse order of go, and Kieffer was still on course when it was announced that current leaders Phillip Dutton and William Penn had picked up a stop at the influential Cavalor Conundrum, fence 12AB in the main arena.

With cross-country still to come this afternoon, Phillip Dutton and William Penn lead the Adequan USEA Gold Cup and PRO Tour Series CIC3* division at the CHC International at Bouckaert Farm, Fairburn, Georgia. They were the last dressage test of the day yesterday and flew into first with a 42.4. Last night, during show jumping under the lights, Dutton and William Penn jumped a clear round on a tough course with just two time penalties to add to maintain their lead before cross-country.

This past weekend, the Texas Rose Horse Park hosted a landmark event for Area V – the debut of the first Advanced horse trials in the Area.  With no other active Advanced course competing in the Midwestern states at this time, Kathy and Kim Brunson, mother and daughter owners of Texas Rose, plan to make this course an opportunity for riders needing to reduce the time and distance required of Midwestern riders who aspire to the highest levels of eventing and to help grow the skill and depth of Area V competitors.
